Artificial General Intelligence

A hypothetical system that could match human ability across the full range of intellectual tasks.

Definition

Artificial general intelligence refers to a hypothetical system that could match or exceed human cognitive ability across essentially any domain, including ones it was not trained on, rather than excelling at one narrow task. Such a system would reason, plan, and learn from few examples the way people do. No agreed test or definition exists, so usage of the term varies widely between labs.
