EleutherAI is a nonprofit AI research collective, started in 2020 as a grassroots effort to build and release open large language models. It produced open-weight models such as GPT-Neo, GPT-J, and GPT-NeoX, the Pile open-source pretraining corpus, and the lm-evaluation-harness, which became a standard framework for benchmarking models. It continues to publish open research, datasets, and evaluations.
