Full-duplex voice is a style of voice interaction where an AI system can listen and speak at the same time, the way two people do on a phone call. It can be interrupted mid-sentence, choose when to jump in, and keep tracking what the user is saying while it talks, rather than waiting for a clean pause before it starts or stops listening. This replaces the older turn-based pattern, where the system had to fully stop listening before it could respond, and it makes voice assistants feel closer to a natural conversation.
