MCP

An open standard for connecting models to tools and data sources.

Definition

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard (introduced by Anthropic) for connecting AI applications to external tools, data sources, and context. It defines a common client-server interface so any MCP-compatible model host can use any MCP server — think of it as a universal adapter that replaces bespoke per-integration glue code.
