Workflow Automation

Using software logic and AI to carry out the steps of a process automatically.

Definition

Workflow automation uses software logic, and increasingly AI, to complete the steps of a process without manual intervention. Fixed rules handle deterministic steps such as moving data or triggering actions, while a model can take on steps that require interpretation, like classifying input or drafting text. Combining the two lets routine multi-step processes run end to end with people involved only at key checkpoints.
