Datacenter

A facility that houses servers, storage, and networking equipment at scale.

Definition

A datacenter is a building or facility that holds large numbers of servers, storage systems, and networking gear, along with the power, cooling, and connectivity to run them continuously. AI training and large-scale serving take place in datacenters because they concentrate thousands of accelerators and the high-speed interconnects that link them. Their power and cooling capacity often set the practical limits on how much AI compute can be deployed.
