Model

A trained program that turns input into output — answering a question or labeling an image.

Definition

In AI, a model is a program whose behavior is learned from data rather than hand-written. After training, it takes an input — text, an image, a sound — and produces an output such as an answer, a label, or a prediction. 'Model' is the general word for the thing you actually run, from a small classifier to a large language model.
