Turing Test
A classic test of whether a machine's conversation is indistinguishable from a human's.
Definition
The Turing test, proposed by Alan Turing in 1950, is a way of thinking about machine intelligence: if a person chatting by text cannot reliably tell whether they are talking to a human or a machine, the machine is said to pass. It shaped early AI, though today it is seen as a limited measure of real understanding.
